Courage Member's Prayer for Guidance

Lord, please show me the right way to go. More than anything, I want to please You. I want to move ahead with my life and continue to grow, but sometimes I let the past hold me back. I remember the foolish things I've said and done and I become discouraged. Please give me the Courage to move on in spite of the past. If there's anything else I still need to confess, please remind me of it, and help me to go to confession, so I can get it off my chest and be fully reconciled with you. If I still need to make reparation or restitution, please show me what needs to be done. I long to be reconciled with my brothers and sisters as well, and I place the healing of all my personal relationships in Your hands. You know my particular temptations, Lord. Sometimes, I feel I've come a long way, and then I fall flat on my face and I feel as though I haven't gotten anywhere at all. Please help me to remember at those times, Lord, that the only thing worse than falling into sin is refusing to get up again. The devil would love for me to stay down once I've fallen. Please always give me the Courage to stand up again, in humility and honesty. Give me the good sense to take advantage of all the spiritual help You offer us, Lord. through the daily Eucharist, through the intercession of the Saints, through the fellowship and faith of other believers. Help me to remain faithful to Your Church's full teachings, and to be forgiving towards others, just as You have been so forgiving of me. And, Lord, please help me to smile often. I have so much to be thankful for. Give me the Courage to be joyful, no matter what difficulties may arise. I trust You in all things, Lord. Amen.
